Midsummer at a National Park

Hey! It's Blue :)

Midsummer is this summer festival that is celebrated is Finland, Sweden and in Baltic countries. It is a celebration on light and well, midsummer. I celebrated midsummer with my group of friends in Kouvola, witch is a smaller town in more of a central part of Finland. There we stayed in a cottage over the weekend.



On Saturday (24th of June) we went on a hike to the Repovesi National Park. We had so much fun! The park was amazing. In the first part of the trail that we hiked, there was a suspension bridge. The bridge was some what 10m above the water. If you want to hike a trail, you always have to cross it.


After crossing the bridge we hiked for a while and faced a big pair of wooden stairs that we had to climb. Some of our friends ran the stairs but the most of us just walked. The stairs end on a big cliff, that is 50m high and you can see 15km of forest from the top. It was a nice warm day so we sat at the top for a while and continued our journey. 



Then we climbed down and continued our path. The trail that we hiked was 5km long in total. I made a little recap video that is now up in youtube! You can go check that out. I will put it in the end of this post.

Daughters of the Forest

It was quiet in the council of the Forest King. The King sat on his mighty throne and looked upon his green land, the high trees, the rays of sun coming through the leaves and dotting the forest floor. For the first time in a millenia he felt at ease with his kingdom, but he had no one to share this serenity with. The Forest King searched for advice in the animals, and found a pattern. Everything has continuity, someone or something to continue their existence after they’re gone.  The Forest King smiled with a thought. He reached down and took a handful of moss, dirt and roots in his large but gentle hand.   He started molding, fashioning, detailing, until the he had formed a figure of a human of the soil. He set the figure down on a mossy rock in the shadow of an old pine tree. He cast a spell so powerful, that the whole forest held its breath. ’’From the soil and roots you will be born. Queen Of Everything
