Until Autumn


It has been a cold and harsh winter. Faelyn, the lady of the frost, has found herself growing weary. She has stayed in this place far too long, not allowing the snow to melt or the birds to build their nests. She waits eagerly, smiling with anticipation, because she knows, today is the day. The first warm rays of sunlight touch her face as she lifts her gaze to the trees. There is no more snow weighing down the branches, and they no longer bow to Faelyn. Instead, they rise up to pay their respects to her sister, the lady of prime. Felka has returned.

The two sisters can only meet twice a year. Last time they saw each other, Faelyn had made the trees lose their crowns of leaves and the ground freeze solid with a woeful goodbye to Felka. Now she can feel her sister's presence once more. The snow starts to melt, and form bubbling streams. Birds start to sing again, and nature comes alive right in front of Faelyn's eyes.

And there she is. Felka walks with anxious strides, followed by patches of tiny seedlings rushing to gasp for air and bask in the sunlight. The sisters embrace for what feels like a lifetime. ''It's been far too long'', Faelyn sighs. ''Not longer than ever before'', Felka responds with a smile.
They know the moment won't last long. Faelyn tells of this winter, and Felka speaks stories of the faraway land of sun and warmth. They talk and laugh for hours, until the sun starts to set. They both feel a familiar weight in their chests. Once again, it's time to say goodbye.

They embrace once more, and then Faelyn embarks on her journey to the land of eternal ice and snow. 
''Until Autumn'' Faelyn utters, and Felka nods at her gently and smiles. It is a reassuring gesture, but deep down a great sorrow bellows within her. A longing they both have shared their entire lives.
''Until Autumn'' , Felka whispers under her breath into the last cold breeze of the fading winter.

Daughters of the Forest

It was quiet in the council of the Forest King. The King sat on his mighty throne and looked upon his green land, the high trees, the rays of sun coming through the leaves and dotting the forest floor. For the first time in a millenia he felt at ease with his kingdom, but he had no one to share this serenity with. The Forest King searched for advice in the animals, and found a pattern. Everything has continuity, someone or something to continue their existence after they’re gone.  The Forest King smiled with a thought. He reached down and took a handful of moss, dirt and roots in his large but gentle hand.   He started molding, fashioning, detailing, until the he had formed a figure of a human of the soil. He set the figure down on a mossy rock in the shadow of an old pine tree. He cast a spell so powerful, that the whole forest held its breath. ’’From the soil and roots you will be born. Your ears will hear the smallest rustle, even the steps of ants. ...

Queen Of Everything

Yes it is me, you look at me in awe. You should, because yes, it is me.   There’s nothing I don’t have, and what I don’t have, I don’t need. I would ask you to bow down, but you already are so much lower than me. Poor, poor you, down there. The world is my castle, that I own in my special way. There’s nothing I can’t have. I want more, there’s never enough. This isn’t good enough. More, I say! Give it to me, I need it! ...Wait... No It's too much Make it stop!
