Art thieves

It seems to be unfortunately common to steal artwork on instagram, twitter or other platform. So many people seem to think there's no shame in taking someone else's hard work, and claiming it's theirs. In case it wasn't obvious already, that is not okay.

I speak to those jackasses now. 
How DARE you? 
Artists put their soul and heart to their work. Be it a painting, a photograph or digital art. How DARE you abuse the hard work, sweat and tears we have put into our craft? 
The years we put in practicing, failing and trying again, can you even imagine what we have given to possess these skills?

Of course you can't.

You haven't put in the work, you only want the likes and the attention. You are not an artist, you are a coward with no spine. 


Now, why am I upset, even if it's not my work being stolen that prompted this post?

 Because it easily could have been. Someone could've used my face, my words, my art to convey something different, or portray it in a whole new, possibly even vicious perspective. It feels like someone ripped your heart out, and is showing it to everyone, claiming it's theirs. It could've been my face on a page of someone I don't recognize, bragging about their wonderful team and wonderful model. Even if they don't know me. That just really burns my toast.

 If your stuff has been stolen before, know this. We are here as a community. 
An artist is never alone.

Daughters of the Forest

It was quiet in the council of the Forest King. The King sat on his mighty throne and looked upon his green land, the high trees, the rays of sun coming through the leaves and dotting the forest floor. For the first time in a millenia he felt at ease with his kingdom, but he had no one to share this serenity with. The Forest King searched for advice in the animals, and found a pattern. Everything has continuity, someone or something to continue their existence after they’re gone.  The Forest King smiled with a thought. He reached down and took a handful of moss, dirt and roots in his large but gentle hand.   He started molding, fashioning, detailing, until the he had formed a figure of a human of the soil. He set the figure down on a mossy rock in the shadow of an old pine tree. He cast a spell so powerful, that the whole forest held its breath. ’’From the soil and roots you will be born. Your ears will hear the smallest rustle, even the steps of ants. ...

Yes it is me, you look at me in awe. You should, because yes, it is me.   There’s nothing I don’t have, and what I don’t have, I don’t need. I would ask you to bow down, but you already are so much lower than me. Poor, poor you, down there. The world is my castle, that I own in my special way. There’s nothing I can’t have. I want more, there’s never enough. This isn’t good enough. More, I say! Give it to me, I need it! ...Wait... No It's too much Make it stop!
